The term "pulp fiction" refers to a literary genre used to describe magazines printed on cheap "pulp" paper in the first half of the 20th century.

Before the days of TV, pulps were how young adults learned about popular culture and the criminal underworld. Stories were often grossly exaggerated and explicit for the times. It is this energy of the genre that Tarantino is trying to exhibit in the film Pulp Fiction, the same way he exhibits his love for the film genre grindhouse in the 2007 film of the same name (also shown separately as Death Proof).

Does anyone know what kind of board shorts/swim trunks Jules wears toward the end of the movie? I know it's a minute detail but I'm thinking of doing this character for an upcoming event and really want to nail all the details if possible. Any help if greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Roger Avary wrote the first element of what would become the Pulp Fiction screenplay in the fall of 1990. Tarantino later completed the script in 1992 while living in Amsterdam.

Does anyone know who keyed Vincent's car? They seem to talk a lot about in the movie but you never hear who did it.
