this has been slightly updated, but most of it is years old. someday soon it will be redone. :)
i dislike organized religion for the most
part but am interested in buddhism and meditation. according to the meyers-briggs personality test, i am an ENFP (expressive/intuitive/feeling/perceptive) "motivator" which only occurs in "about 3 percent
of the general population". i don't put much belief into
personality tests, but if you'd like to read about my supposed personality
according to a psychiatrist, go here Description of ENFP. some of it sounds a tiny bit like me.
one of my favorite things to do is dancing at electronic music events. music inspires me and reaffirms my faith in the universe. i have met many beautiful people
through my brief (since 95) involvement in the surrounding culture.
jungle/drum & bass and tech-house are my current favorite genres.. although
i also listen to and enjoy pretty much every genre of electronic music
as well as hiphop, indie rock, punk, jazz & other non-electronic beats. i attempt to dj now and then, generally failing miserably. :D
many folk seem to think that you can't possibly "like that
repetitive boom-boom shite" unless you are on drugs. i actually
am not into ingesting any sort of drugs at "raves" or other techno-events.. though i am not anti-drug, and believe that what you put into your own
body should be *your* choice and not the government's. i am part of a
harm reduction organization called dancesafe northwest.
to me, "rave" is about experimentation * innovation * open mindedness *
diversity * celebration with a focus * community * and, of course, the music.
some music that rocks: portishead, funkstorung, bikini kill, billie holliday, digable planets, mouse on mars, bjork, depeche mode, jega, sleater-kinney, tristeza, blonde redhead, nick cave, ladytron, velvet underground, foreign legion, operation ivy, air, dr. octagon, dilated peoples, liz phair, the roots, bebel gilberto, yo la tengo, many others.
see the music page to read who i'm diggin' right now and quite a few older album reviews.

i work doing tech support at accessline.com.. you should check them out if you need a voicemail/fax/call forwarding line. previous jobs.. freelance web design, orpheum records, raverbooks,
others.. i am also a college student (at bellevue community college currently).
i am a constant procrastinator, optimistic yet cynical, disorganized, mostly honest, open minded, unmotivated unless i am extremely interested in what i am doing, silly, serious, sarcastic, easily excitable (in more ways than one :P) and constantly changing and morphing creature. i am not easily bored. i am far from patriotic but think it's very important to vote.

a few movies i liked: american beauty, run lola run, the acid house, life is beautiful, pump up the volume, from dusk till dawn, a clockwork orange, pulp fiction, trainspotting, natural born killers, rocky horror picture show.
i fear needles, dogs, crystal meth which i have seen cause great pain, and anything that stays the same for too long. the only television show i can stand is the simpsons.
i love music, stars, sunrise, the ocean, travelling, watching people dance, being a creature of the night, photography, driving, making clothing, chai, kava kava, jones soda, strange cult films, and people who are themselves and don't give a shit about what anyone else thinks about them.
one very special person I barely got to know was Ron Martinez. he was a beautiful man
who was a street musician and sang on university way. i recently found out he passed away and plan to make a web page dedicated to him. (if i can ever find
any info on him, that is. :/) he always sang "too wonderful for words" when I saw him. he had a smile for everyone and turned down numerous offers to play in clubs, bars, etc. because he believed music should be free for the
people. i greatly admire those who understand the power of music and the value
of community over capitalism.
i am an internet addict. you can find me on northwest raves, sisterdjs, deepness, catalyst or various other
music "scene" related sites & mailing lists. i also am someday going
to get inspired to work on scene not herd again.. a zine about music, philosophy and culture with a local focus. from time to time i help facilitate gatherings.
you can follow the other links on my site to find out more about what i dig -
the music page has reviews, artists i like, as well as real audio links, the photo album has photos of myself and events i've been to in various parts of the u.s. and canada, the quotes page is self-explanatory, techno links will take you to sites about music, and other links are non-music places that kickass.
if you've actually gotten this far, i'm impressed. feel free to
contact me if you like and share your thoughts,
suggestions, questions, & mind-expulsions. but i get a *lot* of email and i often
take a long time to write back to it.
